Dear Ollie

solo trip to fll

This couldn’t have been a more ideal trip.

At the airport heading to Florida, we chilled in the Sapphire lounge where they had a kids section. You were playing with the slide and toys and you had sparkling water. Couldn’t have been more fun for you.

The plane ride there, the two women next to us loved you. They held you, showed you the window, and when you finally fell asleep, one let you put your legs on her so you could lay flat on our laps. You napped two hours! And when you woke up, you sat so calm until we arrived. Everyone helped us get our luggage off the plane.

You’ve been eating great. Sleeping. Napping. Playing well. Being so calm and juicioso. You LOVE little M. Not playing so much with Y, but you love watching TV with him in the morning.

We went to the beach today ourselves. It was such a special moment for us. I forgot the towel so we laid in the sand. You put sand all over me for about 30 minutes. Then you wanted some cucumbers, so you sat in my lap quietly eating for 20 minutes. We didn’t speak much. Took it all in. You were ready to leave when parking was almost up. You walked all the way back yourself. Climbed into your seat. And we headed home. I tried to put the music on, but you said “mama, no music.” I almost insisted on putting it on, but I leaned into your mood. It was a beautiful, calm, reflective ride home.

You are perfect. I can’t believe god gave me you. You are my reminder that less is more.
